Class Name Plant Growth Regulator, Growth retardant
Method Title Determination of Daminozide in Apples by GC-MSD
Method Date 2000/08/22
Method Type Confirmatory, Quantitative
Scope and Application Applicable for analysis of daminozide in apples with a reporting limit of 0.04 microgram per gram
Method Summary A sample (25.0 grams) is hydrolized in NaOH and distilled in salicylaldehyde. Glacial acetic acid, saturated NaCl solution and toluene are added before analysis by GC-MSD with separation on an Ultra 1 Capillary Column (25 meter, 0.2 mm, 0.33 micrometer)
Applicable Concentration Range Daminozide may be detected in the concentration range 0.04 to 0.20 microgram per gram in apples. This is equivalent to 0.015 to 0.075 microgram per gram of unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine.
