Proficiency Tests presently underway


IAEA-TEL-2015-01, world wide Proficiency Test on the determination of selected trace elements(Cd, Pb, Cu, As and Zn) and uranium isotopes in drinking water

Terrestrial Environmental Laboratory (TEL) is planning to organize a proficiency test on the determination of selected trace elements and uranium isotopes in drinking water according to the following schedule:

  • Target group: Open to all member states laboratories, worldwide
  • Matrix: Drinking Water (Mineral water)
  • Sample set: one bottle of 500 ml water will be supplied
  • Target analyte: Cd, Pb, Cu, As, Zn, U and uranium isotopes (U-238, U-235)
The results will be evaluated against pre-established reference values and associated uncertainties.
Target dates (tentative):
  • 15 June 2015 - Opening on-line registration
  • 15 August 2015 - closure of online registration & confirmation of participation
  • 30 August 2015 - Shipment of samples
  • 30 October 2015 - Results submission deadline
  • 30 November 2015 - Individual evaluation reports
  • March 2015 - Release of final report
