2nd EU - IAEA Project Review Meeting

EU-IAEA Meeting.pngThe IAEA is conducting several projects with funding from the European Commission (EC) under the Instrument for Nuclear Safety Cooperation (INSC). To review the progress of ongoing collaboration between the IAEA and the EC, both organizations have agreed to organize review meetings on a biannual basis, the second of which was held at IAEA Headquarters in Vienna from 13 to 14 March 2014.

On 21 June 2013, the IAEA and the EC signed a new contribution agreement under the 2012 Annual Action Programme of the INSC. Under the agreement, the EC will make a generous contribution of EUR 9,260,000 to the IAEA, which will be used by the IAEA’s technical cooperation (TC) programme and by the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security (NS) to support nuclear safety projects.
