New Design and Safety Assessment Review Service (DSARS) Module available for Member States - Safety Assessment Advisory Programme (SAAP)

The objective of the Safety Assessment Advisory Programme (SAAP), performed at the request of a Member State (MS) embarking on nuclear power, is to advice on the systematic identification of nuclear safety competency and capacity needs for establishing an NPP programme and to support the development of an action plan for competency and capacity building based on the Safety Assessment Education and Training (SAET) Programme.
 

Conclusions from the GSAN Advisory Group Meeting

The GSAN Advisory Group Meeting was held from 27 to 28 May 2013. The purpose of this particular meeting was to present the new developments of GSAN, to collect feedback from the MS involved in activities supported by the network, and to discuss and agree upon the actions needed to further increase its effectiveness and content.

Zwentendorf Plant Walk Down

The third IAEA Zwentendorf Plant Walk Down Workshop was held from 3 to 7 June 2013. The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize participants with the requirements and guidance of IAEA standards; to familiarize participants with plant walk down methods and inspection practices, and; to provide on-site exercises on preparation and conduct of walk downs.

Prepared by instructors from USNRC and attended by 20 participants from Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Slovakia and Turkey, the programme contained lectures on different plant systems and actual walk down practices inside the plant.

New GSAN Activities Structure

In an effort to provide Member States with a better overview of the GSAN activities in their country, we have changed GSAN’s Activities module. Now every country working on GSAN has an area dedicated to their projects, meetings and workshops.

Presentations, papers and reports from Technical Meetings are always available to all GSAN registered users.

New Multimedia Library Structure

Users were reporting that the video lectures available in the Multimedia section were not presented in a user-friendly way. The GSAN team has now reworked the way the video lectures are presented making it easier to browse through all available lectures.
