single male Queensland fruit fly was discovered on a property at
Mypolonga last month, but according to the Agriculture Minister "The
detection does not constitute an outbreak of QFF."
An outbreak is only
declared if one gravid female fly is detected, if one or more larvae is
found in locally grown fruit, or if five male flies are trapped within
one kilometre in a two-week period.
"At this stage none of these scenarios has been met," Agriculture Minister letter stated.
