​The South American fruit y Anastrepha fraterculus (Wiedemann) and the Mediterranean fruit y Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann) (Diptera, Tephritidae) were  associated with fruits of the woolly butia palm, Butia eriospatha (Mart. ex  Drude) Becc. (Arecaceae), for the rst time in Brazil, from  samples collected in Passo Fundo, state of Rio Grande do Sul.
