General Info

INTRODUCTION

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will organize the Second Technical Meeting on Divertor Concepts from 13 to 16 November 2017 in Suzhou, China. A previous meeting on this topic was held at the IAEA’s Headquarters in Vienna, Austria, in 2015.

 

OBJECTIVES

The purpose of the meeting is to provide a forum for discussing open questions related to the physics and technology of conventional and alternative divertors that could be used to control plasma–wall interaction, while providing optimal conditions for the performance of a fusion reactor core. The meeting will aim at fostering, in particular, discussions of the state of the art and solutions for different plasma power exhaust problems.
