The CICLOP Database

The CICLOP database, developed under the IEA Technology Collaboration Programmes on Co-operation on Tokamak Programmes and Stellarators and Heliotrons, in coordination with the IAEA Technical Meeting on Long Pulse Operation of Fusion Devices, is a 0-D multi-machine database that integrates experimental results from both tokamaks and stellarators. CICLOP provides:

  • A description of the operational domain towards long pulse operation, including the identification of existing limiting factors.

  • A record of the progress achieved in sustaining fusion performance over long durations, highlighting advances and challenges across devices.

By consolidating results from multiple machines, CICLOP serves as a unique reference for understanding the physics and technology pathways toward reliable long pulse operation in fusion facilities.
