In connection with the annual World Immunization event observed by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 27 April 2023, VMS will hold a vaccination event at the VIC. The topic of this year's event is “The Big Catch Up", as it aims to support staff in keeping their immunizations up to date.
During the event, vaccines will be administered on site to staff who are eligible for the vaccination (e.g., staff free of contraindications to vaccination). The following vaccines will be available:
- Tick /FSME
- DTPP – Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis-Polio
- Hepatitis A & B
- Yellow Fever
- Meningitis
- Typhoid
- Pneumococcal (risk groups)
If you are not sure of whether your immunization status is up to date, bring your International Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Card) and/or consult the VMS staff on site. Please note that the DTPP vaccination is free of charge for all staff. All other vaccinations are free of charge for official travellers (proof for official travellers: e.g., Travel Request in the system). For private purposes, some vaccinations are available to staff for a fee (they can be bought from the VIC Pharmacy, which will also be in the Rotunda during the event). In addition, during the event, a specialist on Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, Doz. Dr. Ursula Hollenstein, will be available on site to answer any questions you may have about vaccines and support you in informed decisions about vaccinations that protect against preventable diseases.Your VMS Team
