23rd TRAINING COURSE ON FRUIT FLIES To be held at the International Training Center on Fruit Flies at the mass-rearing facilities in Metapa, Chiapas, Mexico, from June 10 to 21, 2013. The town of Metapa is located at 20 km from Tapachula city, near the border between Guatemala and Mexico. This course has been designed to train researchers, managers, plant protection technicians, fruit growers and exporters. It is organized in 5 modules:
1) Organization of control or eradication campaigns;
2) Biology and systematics of fruit flies and their parasitoids;
3) Detection methods;
4) Control methods; and
5) The Sterile Insect Technique.
