Research Reactor Database
The Research Reactor Database (RRDB) provides extensive information on research reactors all over the world. It is a combination of two individual databases: one that provides profiles of research reactors (both operational and shut down), and the other that compiles fuel information. The research reactor section of the database contains technical specifications and utilization information to assist potential users of research reactors. The fuel cycle section of the database is not publically accessible, but general reports on fuel information are compiled from the database. Both databases are populated and updated by officially nominated facility data providers (FDPs) who are typically located at the reactor.
Research Reactor Ageing Database
The Research Reactor Ageing Database (RRADB) is intended to assist interested Member States share information and experiences specific to the management of technical issues related to ageing as well as the development and implementation of comprehensive ageing management programmes. The RRADB includes operating experience summaries for various ageing related challenges and programmatic approaches to ageing management. The information is searchable by research reactor system and ageing mechanism. Contact details for responsible facility managers are included in each summary to permit users to obtain additional details directly. To submit a report to the Ageing Database, download this template, and send it to rradb.contact-point@iaea.org.
Research Reactor Material Properties Database
Ageing management of research reactors includes a comprehensive effort of engineering, operation and maintenance strategy to ensure reliability and availability of structures, systems and components. Age-related degradation mechanisms can result in unplanned outages as well as lengthy shutdowns and the need for additional regulatory activity, which can be prevented by utilising available data and implementing appropriate maintenance and surveillance programmes. In many instances, data for radiation-induced changes of research reactor core materials resulting from exposure to very high neutron fluences are unavailable because the materials and operating conditions are diverse and specific. In order to reduce the uncertainties in the core structural materials behaviour and accurately predict the lifetime of irreplaceable components, the Research Reactor Material Properties Database (RRMPDB) has compiled documentation submitted by users on the ageing behaviour of materials typically used in research reactors. The material properties are coherently organized with the components in which they are applied. The IAEA TECDOC Material Properties Database for Irradiated Core Structural Components for Long Term Operation of Research Reactors serves as a guide to users of the database.
