Approval by Country Approver / RFP

The National Liaison Officers (NLOs), National Coordinators for Regional Agreements (NCR’s) and primary Registered Focal Points (RFP’s) are notified by email that their approval is required. *Note: If you are a National Liaison Assistant (NLA) or alternate RFP, please visit the Recall Application page to review and approve an application should this task be delegated to you by the primary approver.

There are three ways of approving an event application as NLO/NCR/primary RFP.

1) By clicking on the application link in the received email, you will be taken directly to the application form/request form after logging in to InTouch+.

2) From, the “Home” tab, you can access applications pending approval by clicking on the number provided in the first column as indicated.

Upon clicking on the number, the system will provide a filtered list. You are now viewing only the applications for this specific event. Click on the arrow symbol to start the approval process.

3) On the “Approvals” tab, you will see a full list of pending approvals. As above, click on the arrow symbol to start the approval process.

By clicking on the “Approve” arrow symbol from the “Home” or “My Eligible Events” tab, or accessing the application through the link in the email notification received, you will be taken to the event application form where you are requested to review the participant’s profile and attendee questions. Expand the participant profile and event related questions by clicking on the triangle symbol.

Note: The “Application Form”/“Request Form” questions and support documents differ based on the event type: fellowship, meeting, training activities, traineeships, sponsored participation event as well as conferences and symposia.

Click on the triangle symbol to collapse the page. Save or print the profile and application overview from the top right-hand corner.

A number of new sub-tabs will appear next to the “Application Form”/“Request Form”. The “History” sub-tab provides an overview of the application status, including actions taken. The column describing the actions changes as the application moves further along in the review process.

The “Documents” sub-tab provides an overview of the participant’s profile and application documents.

The “Previous Involvements” sub-tab lists events the participant has already attended. Provided she/he participated in events prior to May 2017, a link listing the attended events will be available.

  • Navigate back to the “Application Form”/“Request Form” sub-tab and scroll down to the bottom of the page to answer the country questions, which are mandatory to fill out for fellowships, training courses and sponsored participation events. The questions will vary based on the event type. Note that some event types (e.g. meetings, symposia, conferences ) may not require you to provide country-related feedback – you may directly continue with the next step.
  • As NLO/NCR/NLA approving TC events, click on “Approve and Submit” to continue.

A new pop-up window will appear, where you can provide a message to the IAEA’s Programme Management Officer. Approve the application by clicking on “OK”.

A confirmation message will appear that the application has been approved.

  • As RFP approving scientific and technical meetings, including conferences and symposia events, click on “Approve and Submit” to continue.

If the application for a conference does not include a request for financial assistance, a simple pop-up window will appear to reconfirm the approval. Upon selecting “OK”, the system will confirm the successful approval.

However, if the application for a conference includes a request for financial assistance, a pop-up window will appear prompting you to approve or reject by selecting the appropriate response from the dropdown menu. Upon selecting the respective response, the system will confirm the successful approval.

A confirmation message will appear that the application has been approved.

As designated country approver (NLO/NCR/NLA/ RFP), you can navigate back to the “Home” tab and the “Completed” action items to find the application you just approved with an updated submission status, namely “Country Approved”:
