The AGR stations list below were originally built by the Central Electricity Generating Board, and were taken over by Nuclear Electric as part of the privatization of the UK Electricity Supply Industry in 1989, though remaining in public ownership at that time.

 

In 1996, the AGR and PWR assets of Nuclear Electric and Scottish Nuclear were privatized as part of British Energy.

Location:                          South of Largs, Ayrshire, west coast of Scotland

Electrical Output:                 1190 MW

Built:                                       1967 – 1976

Start of Generation:             6th February 1976

3. Hartlepool A (HRA) and Heysham A (HYA)

Start of Generation:             1st  August 1983

Location:                          South of Morecambe, North West Coast of England

Electrical Output:                 1150 MW

Built:                                       1970 – 1983 (Reactor 1) 1970 – 1984 (Reactor 2)

Start of Generation:             8th July 1983
