History

EURADOS was registered in the Netherlands in 2001. In 2008 EURADOS has been entered into the Register of Associations in Germany and its structure is fixed by a current Constitution.

Objectives

The objective of EURADOS is to advance the scientific understanding and the technical development of the dosimetry of ionising radiation in the fields of radiation protection, radiobiology, radiation therapy and medical diagnosis by the stimulation of collaboration between European laboratories, specially those of the European Communities.

Management

The EURADOS General Assembly consists of

  • 48 voting members (status January 2009), i.e. selected European laboratories involved in performing or promoting scientific research in radiation dosimetry,
  • about 180 associate members (status April 2008), who contribute to the activities as individual scientists from European countries
